The only bad idea is the one not mentioned. Grab your leaders and key employees and get ideas on the board. These ideas should create excitement and motivate you to achieve your goals. Remember, great ideas inspire.

#3 - Bring Clarity NOT Confusion
To measure success it must be definable and quantifiable. Don't be afraid to turn your ideas realities by clearly defining goals, deadlines, expectations, target numbers, etc... Be as clear as possible. When your goals are clear, so is the pathway to your success.

You have a new plan, and you're excited about the new direction of your company. Don't drop the ball on communication. Everyone within your organization should know your Strategic Plan inside and out, and be able to clearly see how their role helps brings this new vision to life.
#5 - It's a Process NOT Perfection
Give yourself a break! Nobody nails the Strategic Planning Process immediately. Be versatile and ready to make changes and adjustments. The important thing is that you have a plan that galvanizes your team and gets everyone rowing in the same direction. You have the liberty to change your goals and your direction along the way. Keep in mind, it may be 3 to 6 months before your start to see the benefits of this new plan, so don't feel like you need to change things too soon. Give it time.
